Jamie's Newspaper Inspired Card!

Good Evening!

Jamie here from Capture-Your-Memories! Sorry about that late post! Internet has been wonky all day! This is my card that is inspired by old newspaper! As you see, there is no newspaper, but there is a music book from the 1920's! Close enough, right? I did a video on this like I normally do, I want you to see the whole process of my design.

I hope this inspires you to Get Inky!!

Hugs!

Kathy's Newspaper Inspired

Hi, all my Get Inky! family and friends!!!

Kathy here from Up in the Night with Kat to give you a different way to interpret "Newspaper/Yellow Pages" for the current challenge over at Get Inky! Challenge.

I used this digi paper for another challenge this week and when I was looking at my "sample" paper (a page with all the papers in 1.5" squares), it reminded me of how newspapers uses different dot patterns to come up with certain colors for cartoons . . . and the yellow with red pin dots reminded me of "Batman & Robin".  You know, the old 1950s or 1960s version?  Well, keeping that in mind and the fact that I had a lot of "strips" leftover from my other card this week, I decided to do another card using them along with Get Inky!'s "Moon & Stars" stamp set.  Here's how it turned out:

In addition to the digi paper "Relaxing by the Sea" by Template Dreams, I also used star confetti by UmWowStudio.  I hope you like my interpretation of "Newspaper" this week.

Now let GET INKY!!!  Kathy

Judy's Inspiration for the Handmade Flower Challenge

Hi, Judy here. My turn to bring you some inspiration for this week's challenge at Get Inky! Challenge Blog.  The theme of this challenge is to add some handmade flowers to your project. Lots of room to be creative with this challenge.  Here is my card:

My card features a sympathy sentiment digital stamp by Get Inky Stamps . You can find the stamp here.  To frame my card I used the Gold Majesty Circles Dies by Spellbinders.  Distress ink was used to ink the edges of the frame and some glitter on the hearts. The stamp is just perfect to show your sympathy to someone who is suffering a loss. Here is a view of the stamp close up.

My flowers were made with a Martha Stewart Hydrangea punch.  I cut them out of white card stock. I scrunched up the flower to give them some shape then layered them and coloured them with ink and glitter. To complete my card I added some bling from my stash.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you like my card.  Check out Get Inky Stamps sentiment stamps.  They have some  wonderful designs..  Hope to see you join us this week for Get Inky! "Handmade Flowers" challenge. Come back soon for some more inspiration.

Whatcha Working On, Thia?

Hey there Inky friends! Are you ready for a peek at one of next months digis that will be sent out to our club members? If you aren't a member, you may join by visiting our shop and clicking on Inky Moonbeams. Or, wait until March, and this cutie will be available to the public for $3.49!

I'm on the Crafty Card Gallery Design Team, and each month I need to create a card using a certain theme for the month. This months theme is black and white or...
a PENGUIN on your card. This theme inspired me to create a penguin. While in Copics Class, my mind drifted off and I doodled this cutie. (Luckily I had already taken the standard certification class so I wasn't missing anything I hadn't already learned.) Yesterday, I finally turned him into a digi, and here he is above with one of this months digis (the heart has the word love written in many different languages).

If you'd like to see what I do with him next, please visit the Crafty Card Gallery Blog on January 26th, when I will host the post for the day!

See you tomorrow with a Thrifty Tip!

Now go...Get Inky!

Well... here is my inspiration card for Get Inky's 'Quilt Inspired' Challenge...

The two digi stamps I used
('Have a Hippity Hoppity Birthday!' and 'Backside Bunny')
 are from Blue Moon Creations

There's more info about the card on my blog here

But you still have time to upload YOUR creation!

Get over to Get Inky! and have a go!

My Quilt Inspired Card

Hey Everyone!

I wanted to take this time and share with you my card that is quilt inspired! Now, I am not one for quilting nor am I even good with a sewing machine. But I pulled that bad boy out and tackled (not skillfully) this card! I basically used cotton ball and stuffed each "puff" on the card, I then sewed around the edges of the "puffs".

After I was able to finalize the sewing, (which took way longer than expected!) I simply wrapped the card with my jute twine, inked the card with Vintage Photo ink from Ranger/Tim Holtz. Once I inked it I realized it kind of made the card look camouflage, which was a pleasant surprise! I then stamped the squares from the Get Inky! Set, that can be found here (it is a sneak peek!). The Winter Wishes sentiment was then doubled stamped with the Fiskars Winter Wishes set, it was inked with both Vintage photo, then Black Soot by Tim Holtz/Ranger.

I hope this inspires you to pull your sewing machine out, and use it for something other than mending holes in clothing, or collecting dust. :) Don't forget to stop by the Challenge Blog to Get Inky! with us!

Till Next Time,
Hugs,
-Jamie

Hap-bee New Year 2014!

Hello - I am Susan - a brand new member of the Get Inky DT!
Find out more about me on my blog "Calling All Crafters!"

And this is very exciting - this is my first inspiration post for Get Inky!

Our brief was to use the Get Inky digi 'Hap-bee New Year' and 14 embellishments -
yes, 14 embellishments!
Sounds a lot? Actually I soon got to 14 (and more)!

So I counted the holly and berries as 1 set - and the bee's antennae...
3 sets of holly and berries ( the leaves were in my 'bit box' and I added 3 gems),
3 pairs of antennae (Candy Bonbon)
and 8 gems on the 'fireworks'.
3 + 3 + 8 = 14!

I like to add gems in odd numbers - so it was 3 below the banner and 5 above.

I printed the digi three times and cut out the bees as shown,
adding fine glitter and placing them on dimensionals.
For details of the background matting and layering please take a look at my blog!

You still have time to enter the challenge over at

Just make a New Year Card and add 14 embellishments!!
You do not have to use this digi, but if you would like to, you can find it here

Happy New Year!

Hap Bee New Year Inspiration -

Judy here, I am one of the new  guest designer for the Get Inky team.  I am excited to be here.

Right now, we have a super fun challenge going on over at Get Inky! Challenge and I am here to give you some inspiration. The challenge is to use 14 embellishments in your project.  This is our first challenge of 2014 and our New Years post. I have created this New  Years Eve party invitation and with party accessories. ..

For this project, I used a digital image from Get Inky! Stamps called Hap Bee New Years and used a New Years hat, wine glass and a black paper from my stash. To colour my bee  I used my Copics (Y38, Y17 and Y6 ).   I used a stencil  from my stash and with a yellow PanPastels to create the background of my invitation and a black sharpie to frame the image. The "You're invited" was done with my computer. To complete the card I cut out of yellow glitter paper the stars with a Nestibilities die cut and the 2014 date with an alphabet die cut set from my stash.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you enjoy this project.   Get inky Stamps has several other stamps sets that you could for other celebrations such as a birthday party.  Check out their stamps here.

There is still time to join in the current challenge. I hope to see you again soon at Get Inky! Challenge.  Have a creative day!!
