Itty Bitty Inspiration

Hi there, it's Susan R!

I love making teeny-tiny cards, so this itty bitty challenge is just fine!

The owl digi came from the  Inky Moonbeams Club...

more details of my 'recipe' can be found on my blog!

Hope you will join us here!

Happy Crafting!

ITTY BITTY CARD CHALLENGE:

TGIF!   Hope you guys have had a great week!   The challenge at Get Inky is ITTY BITTY CARD... no bigger than 3 inches....  These are note cards that I found from Studio G in the walmart dollar section.  I punched a hole and added some ribbon.  The stamp is of course Get Inky!  I also used Clear crackle on top of the stamp.  I kind of like the effect, makes it look unique I think.  :)   Hope you can join us for this challenge!   I would love to have you stop by my blog and say "Hi!"

A Lil' Washi Tape on a Lil' Card

Hello fellow stamping lovers!  It is me, Ann from the Design Team and the blog:  Annmakes (http://annmakes.blogspot.com).  For this current challenge I combined an itty bitty card design with a little bit of washi tape for a cute card with a HUGE sentiment.  It is a super simple card to make and this washi tape I have been hoarding for a long time was calling out to me to be used.

To make the card I used:

the stamps " Love Bugs" from Blue Moon Creations (retired set)
Sakura gel pens in Yellow and Green
Prima Marketing Washi tape
Staples card stock

I hope this inspires you to make some of your own projects.  Thanks for looking!

Wind Beneath My Wings - Stamping with Washi Tape

Hi, all our Get Inky! friends and family!!!

Kathy here to bring you some "challenge inspiration" for the current challenge over at Get Inky! Challenge (aka Blue Moon Creation Crafting Station Challenge or BMCCS).  The current challenge is "Stamping with Washi Tape". I just LOVE washi tape . . . there are so many options you can use it with - cards, scrapbook pages, decorating presents, etc. I even used it weekend on my "picture board" for my daughter's graduation open house/party.

After receiving some new washi tape this past week ("Urban Market" by Teresa Collins), I knew had to use it for this project . . . especially since I wanted to make a graduation card and my daughter's graduation class colors were blue, silver/gray and white.  And I used the sentiment "You are the wind beneath my wings" from the Love Bug stamp set by Get Inky!  Here's how it turned out:

Supplies
"Urban Market" washi tape by Teresa Collins
corrugated kraft paper from Fancy Pants
enamel dots from the "Urban Market" collection by Teresa Collins
Layering stencil (Speckles - THS021) by Tim Holtz
Archival Inky by Ranger  (Cobalt and Watering Can)
Momento ink in Tuxedo Black
miscellaneous mini paper clip

Since I didn't want to make my card bigger so I could see more of the texture of the corrugated paper, I offset the the Cryogen White paper so I would only see about 1/8" on one side and 1/2" on the other of the corrugated paper from Fancy Pants.  I kept my butterfly chip "naked" to help pull everything together. A few "speckles" of ink here and there and  . . . Voila! I was done. :)

I hope I was able to inspire you today with my "stamping with washi tape" project.  Remember, you have till Wednesday to get your projects in . . . I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with.

Till the next time I'm up in the night . . .
LET'S GET INKY!!!!

Whatcha Workin' On Wednesday: Ink Refresher

Hi, so what happens when you are a multi tasking mom with a longer to do list than will actually fill any ready made To Do list?  Well, if you are like me you may walk away from your stamping project and FORGET to close your ink pad for THREE days!   Arrrrggggghhhh!

So after I was done with my Pirate imitation.... I tried to rescue my ink pad with my homemade version of Refresher.  My pad had plenty of ink as I had reinked it  just a few days prior to my forgetfulness, it was just DRY.

It came to my mind that my experience would make for a good little post for today.

Here is a picture of my project with a dried up ink pad and besides that is my project with a refreshed ink pad.

The recipe I used for the Ink Refresher spray is:

In a 4 oz spray bottle
fill with distilled water 3/4 of the way
add 1/2 tsp. glycerin

That's it!  Shake, spritz and voila the ink pad is good as new!

I hope that you find my little disaster to be a good lesson for you!

Have fun, go Get Inky!  And, remember to close your ink pads.

Ann DT. :)

DT Inspiration Washi Tape

Hi there - it's Susan R!!

I am bringing you my inspiration for the latest challenge at Get Inky!

For this challenge you need to use washi tape - I have several rolls in my stash but I decided to use a 'Woodland Park' one along with several papers from amy tangerine's 'ready set go' paper pad.

I used the May sketch from the Inky Moonbeams Club and that bee is a Get Inky! stamp
which I gilded with gilding flakes.

For more details about my card go to my blog...

THRIFTY THURSDAY TIP!

Happy Friday Eve!  I hope your May has been beautiful and warm!  So thankful to be done with the snow and ice!   We all know that time is Money and I don't know about you but I am always looking for ways to save on both of these! I have found the best way to save time when it comes to mass producing home made cards is to keep it simple.  One layers are great to keep on hand and add too when it is needed.  (This is PERFECT for holiday cards, birthday cards, etc...) Here is a card that I made for the newsletter and as you can see it is simple:  These will be great to make ahead and add stickers, die cuts or any type of personalization.!

Monday Mojo Mention - "Mother's Day"

Hi, all our Get Inky! friends and family!!!

Kathy, here today to share with you a card that was entered in the
current challenge over at Get Inky! Challenge for our "Mother's Day" challenge.
This card, called "A Mother's Love", just "spoke" to me
. . . to my "mom's" heart, the instant I saw it.  I mean, what
can say more about a mom's love than a mom holding her baby?

This INSPIRATIONAL card was created by Julie Gleeson.
You can see more of it and its details on her blog "Something Beautiful".

I really don't have any idea as to where to start on what I LOVE
about this card because there are so many AMAZING details/elements
to see (and touch).  Everything from the way Julie colored her image
to the tiny footprint charm to the variety of flowers (both in color & size)
to the stitching on the image to the cheesecloth behind the image
to the butterfly border at the top . . . EVERYTHING
adds another extra special touch to this card.

THANK YOU, Julie, for creating such an AMAZING
card, one that really did "speak" to me, to my "mom's" heart . . . and
for being our Monday Mojo Mention!!!

I hope everyone have been as inspired as much as I have been today!!!

Remember, you have till Wednesday to get your "Mother's Day" projects in
over at Get Inky! Challenge in order to be eligible for the prize.

Till the next time I'm up in the night.

Mother's Day/Flowers Inspiration

Judy here, Happy Mother's Day to all of you mom's out there.  We are having a Mother's Day/Flower Challenge this week.

This is my  card inspiration for the challenge.

I chose to make a flower pot full of flowers for my card this week.  I made quite a few flowers and then piled them on after I had added my die cuts and leaves.   I made lots of flowers out of my scrap paper in my stash and edged them with Distress Inks.  I was not worried about how many I made because it is nice to have a supply of flowers already made up when you are working on different paper projects.

I added a sentiment from the Cupcake Photo Polymer stamp set to complete my card.  This set of stamps is just full of sentiments to be used with or without the cupcake stamp. I think it is such a great value.  Check out them out at Blue Moon Creations Crafting Station.   If you want more information on how I created my card please visit my blog

There is still time to create your card and enter it in the current challenge. We have a great prize of our lucky winners. Check out the challenge here

Challenge Inspiration

Hello - Susan R here!

Just bringing you my inspiration for the new Get Inky! Challenge -

Stamping with Flowers...I am sure you will want to join in with this one!!

I actually have three ideas here - and, as usual for me, they are pretty 'CAS'
 - for more details please take a look at my blog

But basically I took the jar stamp from Get Inky! and stamped it
over some paper 'stems', glued to a cream card base.
I masked the 'stems' with little pieces of paper so that the flowers looked
as though they were in the jar.
I then added a little blue water colour to the jar for 'water'.

I then added flowers:
  • My first idea was just to use some flower embellishments from my stash.
  • My second idea was to make 'tulips' using a heart punch.
  • My third idea - another Get Inky! Stamp stamped 5 times, with Hero Arts 'soft canteloupe' Shadow ink on a yellow-orange cardstock and then fussy cut.
The third is probably my favourite:

To finish I added buttons and a bow...

Hope you like it and will join the Challenge!

Happy Crafting!

Copic Tip

Happy Thursday crafty pals! Thia here with your Thursdays Tricky Tip. I love my Copic Markers, very much. Here's a great idea for those times when you are looking for paper, dew drops, and ribbon colors that match...color them with your Copics! Yup, that's right! I'm sure you have white cardstock, right? Light colored ribbon? Clear dew drops? Color away! Grab a ziplock bag and put in the ribbon and dew drops add a few drops of ink and zip up. Then move the ink over the items, remove from bag, and allow to dry. Or, color the ribbon by hand. For the matching paper, you can color the entire thing or just edge it with the marker for a neat effect. How fun, your done! And you should have matching pieces for your project now too!
