DT Kathy - Roses are Red . . .

Hi, all my Inky friends and family!

The current challenge over at Blue Moon Creation Crafting Station (aka Get Inky) is all about buttons . . . doesn't matter if you use one, two or a dozen just as long as you use buttons on your project.

Well, for my project this week, I thought I would do something a little different from the usual card . . . I decided to do a canvas to show you how Get Inky! stamps can also be used in a mixed media form. Here's how it turned out:

I used "Hip to be square" and "Sew Sweet Cupcakes" stamps sets by Get Inky! stamps by Blue Moon Creation for this project.  For more information on how to make your own white-washing canvas, visit me over at UpintheNightwithKat.blogspot.com for further instructions.

And for those of you who have been following me for the past two years on my own personal blog, you might recognize the white-washing technique and paper I used on this project.  I had so many squares leftover from the one I did over a year ago, that I decided to use them for this project . . . I am trying to clear out my older stuff so I can get new stuff. The bad thing is I don't remember the paper collection I used for the squares.

Till next time . . .

Let's Get Inky!!!

DT Lyne's Halloween Button Card

Good Morning Get Inky Fans...Lyne here with your button challenge inspiration of the day!  Okay...that was a bit perky even for me, and my nickname in school was Snapple because I was always chipper like the Snapple lady from the commercials.  I just can't help but be happy today because as I type this the sun is shinning enough that DH and DS are outside playing!  For anyone with a three year old you know how much this means.  I digress though and on to my Get Inky project.
I used a yard of ribbon and the Get Inky 2013 Halloween set to create this fun card. I wove the ribbon like a messy web and used the button as the "prey" that the spider caught.  The stamps were also just the right size to give the spider some friends without it being too busy.  I share more details about why I'm doing a Halloween card in February if you'd like to pop over to my blog and take a read.
As always though I can't wait to see what you create for the button challenge...Get Inky has so many talented fans!

DT Member Beth ~ Challenge # 7 Stamp With Bleach

Hi, Beth here from The Crafty Scrap Yard!

Today's card is inspired from our "Stamp with Bleach" challenge!  I was not familiar with this technique prior to this challenge.  I learned there are different types of techniques and ways to stamp with bleach.  For this challenge I stamped my image with ink and then applied embossing powder.  I then heat embossed the image and then applied a diluted bleach on my image to highlight the areas I chose.  I enjoyed trying this technique and would like to do it again along with trying out some of the other applications I found out about.

My design:

More details about my card can be found on my blog here.

I used Beary Special Cupcake stamp set for my stamp & sentiment.  You can find out more about our current challenge, posted on our Get Inky! Challenge Blog.

I hope you stop back soon again to visit soon. ♥♥(ˆ◡ˆ)♥

DT Judy - Stamping with Bleach

Hello - it's Judy here - showing you my card for the latest challenge over at

The challenge is to use bleach on your card.

There is still a little time to create your card  and enter it here.

Get Inky has some wonderful stamps that can be used in a wide range of formats.
These are the steps and ingredients I used to make my card.

Stitched circles and  sentiment from Get Inky Stamp Set, Click Here to see them.

Green and Brown card stock from my stash
Flower, pearls and ribbon from my stash

I first made a pad of paper towels pour the bleach on the pad.  I then stamped the several different sizes of the stitched circles on to the brown card stock.  The bleach turned the stamped image a nice soft yellow colour. Very pretty background I think.  My last step was to assemble my card.

I hope you pop over to the challenge blog and submit your creation made with the stamping with bleach technique. There are some wonderful stamps up for grabs!

DT Ann- Using Bleach

Hello there!  Ann here from the Design Team and the blog Annmakes. Today I have for you my little bit of inspiration for the current" Use Bleach" Challenge.  A word of caution first:  For those participating in this challenge please remember to work in a properly ventilated room when using bleach.  Even in small quantities the stuff is nasty!  But oh, the creative results are really cool!

I stamped some hearts using bleach on this card and I think it is a fun effect, have a look.

So crack open a window and remember a tiny bit of bleach can go a longgggg way!  Have fun and go Get Inky!

DT Susan - using Bleach!

Hi there - this is Susan... and a Happy Valentine's Day to you!

But now for something a little different!

This is my DT card for Challenge #7 at Get Inky!

The Design Team were challenged to use bleach - just common or garden household bleach in my case - find out what I did at Calling All Crafters!

This is the result

I used both digis and clear polymer stamps from Get Inky! to make this card...

I hope you like it...

I also want to show you Kathy's DT card:

Isn't it gorgeous?
She used the "Sew Sweet cupcakes" stamp set and said
"I used bleach on the solid red to get a different background. I was really happy with how it ended up matching my other papers because with bleach you never now how it will turn out . . . you don't get the same results depending on the paper"

Smiling Flowers!

Did you get your links in for our Get Inky Challenge this week? We hope so! Have you entered the challenge over at Peachy Keen Stamps yet? It is a sketch challenge and I am entering it with this card that I created with my daughter. As I was trying to get my almost 3 year old daughter ready for bed, she decided she needed to work on a card with me. It had to be a flower with lady bugs. Oh, perfect, I have just the thing in my peachy keen cottage cuts die cut stash! And, my new Get Inky! stamp set with stitched circles works with it perfectly! And since the new PK Stamps of the month arrived, I used some sentiments from it to create this card (with my daughters help, of course)! Oh and we used the PK Challenge Sketch too.

I colored the flower with my Copic Markers, and the ladybugs with my Glaze pens. Added a fabric flower for dimension along with double sided foam adhesive. It came together nicely...I think. Seemed easy too. And I love how the stitching really adds to it.

I'm also entering it into the coloring challenge over at Addicted To Stamps. There's still time to link up there, so come join the fun!
http://www.addictedtostamps-challenge.blogspot.com.au/2014/02/challenge-82.html?m=1

If you are interested in getting your own set of stitched circles, the name of the set is BMC-0009 Circle of Love and it will soon be listed in our shop. I am so excited about these stamps because my dream for my manufacturer came true...my stamps have that peachy tint to them! Can you believe it?!? Have I mentioned I love Peachy Keen Stamps? They really are the best stamps out there! And now I can get my stamp designs made with that quality us Peachy Fans love! (The hard part is switching all my existing sets over! But it is soooo worth it!)

Oh, and for those of you who would like to put your craftiness to work on a Design Team, Blue Moon Creation Crafting Station is CURRENTLY looking for a few designers to work with our Get Inky! Stamp line starting ASAP through July. Check out the Design Team Call tab at the top for more info on how to apply.

Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

Lyne's Valentine Inspiration

Hi everyone - Lyne here from Lyne's Everyday Ideas for my first 2014 inspiration post here at Get Inky.  The challenge this time is Valentine's/Love.
Would you believe this is the one holiday I usually buy a card for because I love the sappy poems.  I went a little out of the box and created a Valentine's gift card holder in the shape of a purse. The stitched square and stitched heart are both from Get Inky Stamps.
I hope you'll come and join us for this challenge.  We love to see all your creations!

Judy's Inspiration for the Valentine/Love Challenge

Judy here with my card for the Valentine/Love challenge at Get Inky! Challenges this week.  I have created this cupcake card for the challenge using stamps from the Sew Sweet Cupcake stamp set. The stamps for this card can be found here

What a fun card to make. I used a very old technique using shaving cream to represent the icing on the cupcake and to colour the hearts.  I added red ink to the shaving cream cream and stirred up the mixture until it looked like fluffy pink and white icing.  For the bottom of the cake I made the mixture much lighter and added it to some card stock that was cream in color and some what glossy. I stamped my images and sentiment with black Stazon ink.

To complete my card I embossed the background with a Sizzix heart embossing folder, added a white glittered ribbon, a butterfly and some bling. Now my card is ready for my sweetie.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you will join in the challenge.  Just create your Valentine/Love card and enter it here.

Stamping On, and Using Felt!

Good Morning! Jamie here from Capture-Your-Memories, and today I wanted to share with you my project that contains me stamping on and using felt. You can see, and join this challenge over at Get Inky! Challenge Blogspot.

These challenges are weekly so you don't have much time - I do hope I will see your creation!

Anyway the challenge is to use some felt...
I used a dark piece of blue felt, white card-stock, 3 felt flowers from Recollections, I also used green ribbons, and a blue polka dot brad! The bow was the fun part though, I used Archival ink from Ranger, and stamped the bow on the dark blue felt. I then cut it out, and adhered the green bow on top! The bow is from the Joyful Jar Drinks Stamp Set that can be found here

To find out more about my card take a look at my blog

Hugs!

Made with 100% Love

Hi, all my crafty friends and family!!!

Kathy, here from Up In The Night With Kat to give you a little inspiration for the "Stamp on Felt" challenge that is going on over at Blue Moon Creation Challenge.  I played around with this quite awhile trying to make sure I could do it correctly . . . Thank goodness for YouTube. :)  I ended up using a swirl stamp from Get Inky's "Love Bugs" stamp collection, Lagoon ink by Close To My Heart and embossed it with Turquoise embossing powder onto a flower which I used on the following layout:

Here's a close-up of the flower:

I used Cosmo Cricket's "Early Bird" paper collection along with some of my Kiwi Lane templates that I have had for . . . well, over 4 years or so.  What can I say? . . . . I'm trying to use us some of my stash and use some of my older tools.  I also used some flair from UmWowStudio, mini clothespins from Close To My Heart and some misc gems on this layout.

Pretty cute, don't you think?  That's one think I LOVE about Get Inky! Stamps is that they are so cute and versatile.  One piece of advice on embossing on felt . . . use a slow, low heat. :) Also, before you use your embossing gun, flick the BACK of your felt to remove any extra embossing powder.  If you don't, you will have flicks of embossing powder  because felt likes to capture it.

Now let's Get Inky!!!!

Till next time I'm up in the night.  Kathy
