Kathy's Challenge Inspiration - Winter/Snow

A Very Merry Christmas to everyone out in crafty world!!!

Did everyone have a good holiday?  I know I did . . . it was full of family, friends, and FOOD! (Well, and a little crafting on the side for me. lol)  It is always so fun to get together and give thanks for the reason for this season . . . and to reflect back on the "good ole days".  (Makes me sound old, doesn't it? lol)

Anyway, over at Get Inky! Challenge blog, we are having a new challenge and the theme is "Winter/Snow" . . . so easy, peasy!  Well, when I think of winter, I think of Christmas, Christmas carols, evergreens, and such.  So when I received this digi "Color Merry Christmas Tree", I knew I needed to use it as my challenge inspiration.

Here's how my card turned out:

As some of you might recognize, I came up with this same sketch and used this paper a couple weeks ago for a different challenge . . . but what can I say?  When you find or do something good, you keep it. :) (But I did add a few different items to it to work with my digi image.)

For this card, I used "Very Merry Christmas" paper collection from Echo Park. I also used ribbon from Snug Hug; red bling from  "Holly Jolly" mini jewels by TPC Studio; and "Vintage Finds" gems and pearls by Teresa Collins . . . and Voila! it was done.

Now it's your turn to come up with a project and get it entered in this week's challenge over at Get Inky! challenge . . . I truly hope to see you there!!!

Well, it's time to have a Midnight snack . . . I wonder if there's any leftovers left?  I sure hope so. :)

Again, have a VERY Merry Christmas (and a Happy New Year)!!!   Kathy

Kathy's Inspiration - Challenge #19 Christmas

Hi, to everyone out in crafty world!!!

Right now, we have a super fun challenge going on over at Get Inky! Challenge and I am here to give you some inspiration.  With it being so close to Christmas (less than 10 days away), I decided to show you a quick and simple card . . . it is a style I have done many times before and I never get tired of it. And with how versatile Get Inky! stamps are, I can get so many different looks.

For this card, I used two (2) stamps from Get Inky! Stamps' 2013 Holiday stamp collection.  For the tree, I used my Copics (YG63, YG67, E43, E47) to color it and Xmas Red Stickles for a little decoration . . . I also used a sequin at the top of the tree.  The twine is from The Twinery.  And to finish off the card, I used a red button from my stash. Voila! It was done.

If you would like to see another card of this style I have done for Get Inky! Stamps called "Bee Happy", click HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you enjoy this card and try making one (or two or three or . . .) yourself.  Hope to see you join us this week for Get Inky! "Christmas" challenge.  Have a Very Merry Christmas!!!

La-Vie's Inspiration for Challenge 19: Christmas

We've got an exciting Christmas challenge going on at the Get Inky! Challenge blog and I'm blogging to inspire you to join in on all the fun!!

Using 3 Get Inky! Stamps from the 2013 Holiday set (available on Etsy), I created a banner from kraft cardstock to top the card. The stamped images were colored with Copics (and on the edges of the banner to mimic inking), adorned with Epoxy circles and popped up on foam tape. The Ho Ho Ho embellishment and the red grommet ribbon complete the look.

For more views of this corrugated card, tips and a supply list, check out my personal blog. Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed this project and will consider joining in on the challenge! Merry Christmas!!

What's the Buzz All About?

Happy Thursday, crafters! Ashley here from Made Especially For You, and today I'd like to share with you a card I made as inspiration for our current "Onward and Upward" challenge:

The sentiment and the adorable bee are from the "Buzzing Bees" stamp set, and both are stamped with Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black. I cut a few clouds using a simple cloud file from the Silhouette store and embossed them with my Cuttlebug. Lastly, I inked the edges of the clouds with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass, and adhered the clouds to the card base with pop dots.

Hope to see you playing along in our challenge!

Onward and Upward Challenge Inspiration- Sue B

Good day all! It is my turn to bring inspiration for the Get Inky Stamps Challenge "Onward and Upward." I have to say that this was a team project with my dear Hubby. He loves tart candles as they make our house smell delicious. I always say that he is my MacGyver. He decided  he wanted to make his own tart warmer for our main bathroom. He, of course, needed my help to make it pretty! To me onward and upward makes me thinking of the flying creatures of the world. Here is the finished product:

Supplies Used:

SU Paper Flowers
SU Rose Embellishment
SU Red Glitter paper
White Tulle ribbon

Thanks to Get Inky! Stamps for having me over. Until next time...

Julie's Onward & Upward Inspiration for Challenge #18

Is it still hump day when the work week is so short? Happy Wednesday, my friends.  Julie here today from Muddy Paws & Inky Fingers. There's a new challenge underway over on the Get Inky! Challenge blog, and the theme is Onward & Upward.
I made a hot air balloon card using my Silhouette earlier this summer, and I thought the shape would be perfect for this challenge.  So, I looked through my computer folders until I found it, and made another balloon shaped card for this challenge.

The stamp set I used on this card is the Get Inky! Stamps Love Bugs set.

Come join the Onward & Upward Challenge at the Get Inky Challenge blog.  I'd love to see what you create with this theme!
To learn more details about this card, and to see what else I've been working on, please visit my blog.
And Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends!

"Thanks" Pumpkin Double gate fold

Hello, it's Ann here from the Get Inky! Design Team with the card I made for the "Thanks" challenge.  It is a double gate with overlapping front panel flap card.  I used the adorable pumpkin stamp from the Holidays 2013 stamp set which I stamped with Memento Black ink, coloured with orange gelatos by Faber Castell and some Prisma coloring pencils. For the card base I used some orange card stock from my stash (Staples) and some scraps of printed paper.  The white card is from Stamping' Up!, and the trim is cord from Dollarama.  In order to make the front panel I die cut the white and a piece of orange card with a Stampin' Up! Sizzix die.  The white and orange were cut at the same size initially and then I trimmed along the edges of the white card before I matted it on to the orange piece.

That's it for now.  I hope that you enjoyed this quick project and perhaps are inspired to show your "Thanks" to someone during this holiday season.  Thank you for stopping by.  I f you would like to see more of my own projects., come over to my blog, Annmakes, and see what I am up to.

BOO! - Get Inky! Challenge #16

Happy Monday, to all crafty friends and family !!!

Kathy, here and I am here today with some inspiration for you for the current challenge on  Get Inky! Challenge blog  . . 3D Holiday.

As I mentioned on my last Guest Designer post, I just LOVE Get Inky! stamps . . . so much that alI needed was the "Halloween Spooktacular 2013" stamp set which was on its way to me. Well, it made it and I couldn't be more happy with it.  As soon as I got it, I went to work on some really cute "You've been BOOed" treat basket . . . kinda like May Day baskets, but more for Halloween (or anytime of the year you want to "BOO" someone).

Yes, I know that Halloween is over . . . BUT I had to share what I did ---

(This is my "You've been BOOed" all together)

(This is "You've been BOOed" the "instruction" sheet on the outside)

(and this is a close-up of just the instructions)

NOTE: It does say make a copy of the BOO sign . . . well, instead of doing a big BOO sign, I did a tag and added little BOOs to my treat holder. :)

So what do you think?  I know that next Halloween, I'm going to be doing a bunch more of these . . . they are so much FUN!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by . . . and remember to get your 3D projects in for Challenge 16.  (and GOOD LUCK!!!)

3-D Holiday inspiration for Challenge 16

Hi, it's Ann from the Design Team and the blog Annmakes.  Today I have this three dimensional paper snowflake ornament to show you.  It is a fun project that requires few supplies and once you have practised making a few of these they are quite easy to make and you just might want to keep making more and more.  The snowflakes also make great gift bows and you can make them with different themed papers and stamps for different occasions.  This one was made from a Snowmen printed one sided scrapbook paper that I stamped, the reverse white side of, with the Holidays 2013 stamp set from Get Inky! and some red and green stamping ink by Stampin' Up!

I started out with a 6 inch square of paper, I stamped in vertical lines using the sayings and smaller images from the stamp set.  Once the ink was dry I cut the paper into strips one half of an inch wide by 6 inches long.  Each snowflake or bow requires 12 strips.  The process involves the weaving of six strips of paper connected to another six pieces of paper woven together.  I got the idea to make these snowflakes from "The Frugal Crafter" and her video tutorial.  I modified the project by using the white side of the paper and the stamps.

I hope that you find this inspiring and take some time to go and GetInky!  Have fun and thanks for stopping by.

Got Candy?

Hey stampers! Ashley here today with some Halloween inspiration for our Buttons on a Halloween Card challenge.

For my design team project I created quick and simple card using 3/8" Yellow/Orange Grossgrain Diagonal May Arts ribbon from Sparkly Sweet Craft Notions, whom I'm guest designing for this month. As soon as I saw this ribbon my immediate thought was candy corn, which inspired me to use the 'Got candy?' sentiment from Get Inky's Halloween stamp set:

The digital stamp is called "Cute Little Candy Corn" and is from Meljen's Designs. I colored it with copics Y13, Y15, Y19, YR04, YR07, and YR09. I used some Diamond Stickles on the swirls to add some sparkle. I adhered a button to the ribbon for a final touch, I love how it's a pop of white next to the digital stamp.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, and we hope to see you playing along in our challenge!

Kathy says "Bee Happy"

Happy Monday, to all our Get Inky! friends!!!

Kathy here today from Up in the Night with Kat with some inspiration for you.  But first, I want to tell you how excited and honored I am to have been asked to be a Guest Designer for Get Inky! Stamps.  So THANK YOU, Thia, for this wonderful opportunity!!!

As many of you know, I just LOVE Get Inky! stamps . . . they are so versatile and so cute!!!  And because they are so versatile, I was able to use the "Buzzing Bees" stamp set on a fall card for this week's challenge on Get Inky! Challenge blog.

The current challenge on the Get Inky! Challenge blog is a Fall or Halloween card with buttons.  At first, I was unsure what I was going to do because I don't have the Get Inky! Stamps "Halloween Spooktacular 2013" stamp set (it is actually the only one I do NOT have . . . BUT it is on it way as we "speak" right now -- lol).  But then as I was looking out at my flowers, a light bulb went on . . . I saw some bees just buzzing around . . . going from flower to flower, collecting the pollen so they can make honey and store it up for the winter, and being a "country" girl, I knew this was something they do every FALL to get ready for winter.

So there I had it . . . I was going to use my "Buzzing Bees" stamp set for my card.

Since I needed more "generic" cards for my card stash, I decided to keep my card CAS (clean and simple) card for this challenge with just a little color from some twine.  In addition to my stamping, I used Marigold and Charcoal twine from the Twinery, wrapping it around the top-middle part of the card twice and folded up the bottom corner of the front of the card and attached a button.  I also used a little bit of "Frosted" Stickles on the wings of my bees to give them a little something.

Remember, the current challenge at Get Inky! was doing a card with a Fall or
Halloween theme . . . with buttons as the a twist.

Thanks so much for stopping by
. . . hope to see you again!!!
 Kathy

Oh, one more thing . . . if you want to find out how to win a $15 gift certificate to
